Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, stepped in to restore order in the courtroom after Justice Maryann Anenih abruptly left in frustration during a scheduled arraignment at the FCT High Court on Wednesday.

Justice Anenih was set to hear the plea from Bello and two other defendants but expressed her displeasure with the courtroom’s disruption, declaring that she would not return until a semblance of order was established.

In the wake of the judge’s exit, Yahaya Bello, seated towards the front, quickly rose and moved to address the unruly crowd. He instructed his supporters and followers to vacate their seats and exit the courtroom, a move that effectively eased the tension as they complied without resistance.

To further ensure compliance, the former governor positioned himself at the courtroom entrance, overseeing the orderly departure of his aides and supporters, who adhered to his directives.

Meanwhile, Kemi Pinheiro SAN is at the helm of the federal government’s legal representation, while Joseph Bodunde Dauda SAN leads the legal team for the former governor, who faces 16 charges.
