Yahaya Bello and two others have pleaded not guilty to criminal charges filed by the EFCC.

The 16-count charges were presented to the former Kogi State governor and his co-defendants in front of Justice Maryann Anenih.

They refuted all allegations, which include the illicit conversion of N110 billion for personal gain.

Bello, the primary defendant, strongly denied the accusations as they were read by the Court Registrar.

At the time of this report, discussions regarding bail were about to begin.

It was noted that Umar Shoaib Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu had previously been granted administrative bail by the EFCC, while this marked the former governor’s first appearance in court.

Further details to come…
