The Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) has charged the residents of the state to ask Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led government for accountability and transparency on the disbursement of N5bn palliative provided by the federal government of Nigeria.
It also asked the people to ask six cognitive questions border questions bordering on two trucks of rice containing 1,200 bags that were delivered to the state government.
This was contained in a statement on Saturday, signed by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Prince ‘Tunji Moronfoye and made available to newsmen.

KWARA APC AND THEIR USUAL PALLIATIVES MISMANAGEMENT
19/08/2023
The Kwara state Peoples Democratic party (PDP) are calling the attention of well meaning Kwarans and stakeholders to the usual hypocritical and conscienceless mismanagement of palliatives by the kwara state All progressives Congress (APC) regime, led by Mal. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, meant for Kwara Masses. We have not forgotten the horrors of the COVID-19 palliatives distribution by the same draconian regime.
The social media was agog with videos and discussions about the initial 1200 bags of rice sent to Kwara state by the federal government for distribution, this is where we saw Adewole ward of Ilorin west local government Area in a video, purportedly sharing an amount of rice which would not be enough to feed a family of six.
We were all shocked when the Chief press secretary to the governor, Mr. Rafiu Ajakaye addressed a press conference after the Adewole ward video fiasco, where he said;
*…”Government will not share a cup of rice or whatever ridiculous thing you see on social media, whatever you see, that it is not the doing of the government or the committee”…*
Kwarans all remember the press statement where Mr. Ajakaye said in a statement Tuesday 15/08/2023 earlier in the week, that the state government took delivery of two trucks of rice containing 1,200 bags which the governor directed immediate distribution of same, to the less privileged through local government structures in the state.
The questions Kwarans want answered are;
1) Who distributed the 1200 bags of rice if it was not the kwara state APC regime?
2) Who authorized the distribution of the bags of rice?
3) What were the parameters for the distribution of the 1200 bags of rice?
4) What amount did each Local government get out of the 1200 bags of rice and why?
5) What amount did each senatorial district get out of the 1200 bags of rice and why?
6) Why was kwara state given only 1200 bags of rice (considering the fact that our governor is the Nigeria Governor’s forum Chairman), while we saw on social media that other states in the federation allegedly got more bags of rice?
We at the PDP put it to the Kwara state draconian APC regime, that the initial 1200 bags of rice was distributed through their party structure. This would obviously exclude the PDP members and other Kwarans. We want Kwarans to take note of this wicked conscienceless, action by the draconian Kwara APC regime. Nigerians irrespective of creed or party affiliation are in pain and anguish from the national APC regime’s ill advised and “knee jerk” policies, why should only APC members get from the inadequate palliatives provided by the federal government?
Consequently, we have now been informed of a new 5 billion Naira in palliatives, provided by the federal government. This round of palliatives has been broken down into various components for grains provision, including rice for the hungry masses of each state including kwara state. We can only *beg* the “ALL POWERFUL” kwara state APC regime to let this round of palliatives go round, irrespective of party affiliations. Kwarans are impoverished and hungry, begging for food to eat is now the order of the day on the streets of major cities of Kwara state and Nigeria.
In conclusion, rather unfortunately we do not hear the voices of our elected members of the kwara State House of Assembly (KWHA) on this matter. It is saddening to see that the KWHA has become the extension of the executive arm of government in kwara state. One would have expected that the KWHA would perform their oversight responsibility in this all important issue.
We remind the current KWHA members that history and posterity will not be kind, to elected representatives that worked against the masses who elected them during this difficult time.
We can only pray at this time for God’s quick relief out of the horrible situation we find ourselves, caused by the APC regimes in Kwara and Nigeria. Amen.

Kwara State PDP Publicity Secretary.
