Obasanjo Olusegun

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has dismissed rumors of his death circulating on social media, affirming that he is alive and well. Speaking on Tuesday at the inauguration of the Old Garage/Oke Fia-Lameco Dual Carriageway in Osogbo, Osun State, Obasanjo expressed dismay over the false reports.

He said he promptly reassured his family of his well-being upon hearing the rumor. “I saw the report on social media claiming I was dead. I immediately informed my children and relatives that it was untrue. God has kept me alive despite the wishes of those who want me gone,” he stated.

Obasanjo criticized those spreading the falsehood, describing it as both troubling and a misuse of technology. “Why would anyone wish me dead? Those harboring such thoughts will not escape tragedy themselves. This kind of behavior is unacceptable,” he added.

Governor Adeleke Highlights Infrastructure Achievements

At the event, Governor Ademola Adeleke outlined his administration’s progress in infrastructure development over the past two years. He highlighted the construction of over 120 kilometers of roads across Osun State, along with ongoing projects such as two major flyovers in Osogbo, and roadworks in Ile-Ife and Ilesa.

“We are committed to completing the Iwo-Osogbo Road and have added the dualization of the Odoori-Adeeke Road in Iwo in two phases. Importantly, all these projects are being executed without taking any loans,” Adeleke noted.

He emphasized that his government prioritizes financial prudence by blocking leakages, employing local resources, and maintaining high standards. Looking ahead, he assured residents of Osun State that all ongoing projects would be completed and pledged to balance infrastructure development with social programs.
