As part of its humanitarian services, Junior Chamber International, Akure Chapter has commemorated with volunteers across the globe to clean up the Oja Oba market and sensitize market women for the essence of dirt free environment.
The Junior Chamber International, Akure President, Akinwunmi Abiodun said it is imperative to reawaken the consciousness of citizens in Akure Metropolis.
World clean up day is an annual international project that brings all youths across the globe to volunteer to have a dirt free environment.
Junior Chamber International, Akure an organization of young people that creates positive change to its immediate environment, has deemed it fit to clean up the Oja Oba Market in Akure Metropolis and also sensitize the market women.
The president of the organization, Abiodun Akinkunmi said there is a need for proper disposal of refuses, he therefore urged residents to be conscious of their environment for healthy lives.
Chairperson on the occasion, Bisola Aluko, draw the attention of the residents to take responsibility for their environment.
Other organisations that also that took part in the activities include Young Africa Leadership Initiative (Yali) Ondo, Aqua World, Elomgreenie, Fabe among others said coming together to achieve a dirt free and sustainable safe environment is a collective effort.
Market Women appreciated the organizations for the service rendered to reawaken their consciousness on the need for clean and safe environment.
Junior Chamber International, Akure Metropolis promised to keep up its humanitarian services to the society.
