A Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, Honourable Marooph Bukoye Bintinlaye has commended former governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, deputy governor candidate of the party Gbenga Peter Makanjuola and other stakeholders on their reposition on unity and peace.
It would be recalled that at the Kwara South PDP Stakeholders Consultations Meeting on Saturday, selected critical stakeholders from Kwara South were charged to continue to embrace peace and unity for the progress of the party.
In his reaction on Sunday, Honourable Bintinlaye said the time has come for members of the PDP in the state to unite and secure victory in the 2023 general election.
“As posit by former governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, Honourable Gbenga Makanjuola and other stakeholders of the party yesterday, it is paramount for the PDP to secure victory in 2023 for the good of its members and the entire people of the state. A house divided by itself cannot stand against external aggression. The mission is to rescue Kwarans and we need to be united in order to attain victory.
“Despite the dire need to praise stakeholders, candidates, and their supporters for their cooperation thus far, I state that much more work needs to be done to ensure that their efforts are not in vain.
“Candidates and stakeholders alike must work together to achieve the party’s triumph in the elections scheduled for next year. When the PDP controls the administration in Kwara State and Nigeria, prosperity and development will abound, hence we need everyone to succeed in this battle.”
Honourable Marooph Bintinlaye also appealed to all and sundry to be just, fair and unbiased in working together to ensure candidates’ victory in polls.
