At the Osun State Government House, Oke-Fia, Osogbo business owners, dealers, and landlords protested on Monday.
According to News Bulletin Nigeria, the protest was held to press home their concerns regarding the State Government’s failure to pay their compensation.
The demonstrators, who were primarily from Osogbo metropolis’s MDS, Olaiya, and Fakunle axis, were seen carrying placards with various messages.
They described their experiences, claiming that the State government had destroyed their building and their businesses in 2013.
They believed that because Governor Adegboyega Oyetola was Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s chief of staff at the time of the demolition, he should be sympathetic to their situation.
Despite their support for him, the demonstrators said that Governor Oyetola was treating them like a disposable resource.
