Honourable Maryam Joy Obe has congratulated Alhaji Hakeem Oladimeji Lawal on his victory as the Party’s governorship candidate in Kwara State.
She also extolled Honourable Saheed Olalekan Popoola on victory to represent Offa/Ifelodun/Oyun Federal Constituency.
Honourable Maryam Joy, who is the SDP Candidate for Eesa/Shawo/Igboidun Constituency asserted this in a statement by his media team dated June 1st, 2022.
In her words, “I wholeheartedly congratulate all elected members of the party in the just concluded primary election in the party.
“On the fore, of course, is Alhaji Hakeem Oladimeji Lawal. I say the man of the people has won and I trust he has the capacity to rescue our dear state from the pangs of economic gloom and disunity.
“I also extend my greeting to Honourable Olalekan Saheed Popoola for not only his victory but his the resilience and doggedness towards bringing about a new Kwara where we can all hope for greatness at nobody’s direct mercy.
“So I again say congratulations to Honourable Popoola as you emerged the SDP candidate for Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Fed. Constituency.
“Indeed the victories at the polls belong to the people and democracy.” she said.
Honourable Maryam also described the outcome of the election as a victory for the Kwara SDP family, which demonstrated the capacity to work together for the good of the party and the state as a whole.
She said the outcome should be seen as a collective mandate, which will bring SDP members together for the overall success of the party in the 2023 general elections.
