In Lagos, the trial of Andrew Nice was stalled today as he was absent in court.
Director of Public Persecution Babajide Martins informed the court that at the resumption of trial today, that the Nigeria correctional center in Ikoyi had taken the initiative not to let out any inmate today following the rumors of riot due the enforcement of the ban on Okada in Lagos state.
He said the Lagos Island area have been known to be a hotbed during such incidents and they intend to prevent any inmate from taking advantage of such incident to escape custody.
Justice Serifat Sonaike further adjourned the matter to the earlier scheduled 7th and 9th of June for continuation of trial.
Andrew Nice is standing trial on a five count charge including the murder of Bamise Ayonwola.
Our correspondent Emmanuel Onwuka reports that three witnesses were present in court today to testify against Andrew Nice.
