A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, Honourable Marooph Bukoye Bintinlaye has congratulated Honourable Gbenga Peter Makanjuola, on his emergence as the running mate of the party’s gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 general elections.
Honourable Gbenga Makanjuola was on Saturday unveiled as the running mate of Alhaji Shuaibu Yaman Abdullahi in PDP Secretariat in Ilorin, Kwara State capital.
This was contained in a statement signed by Honourable Bukoye Marooph Bintinlaye Media (HMBM) dated June 19.
“On behalf of myself, family and the PDP family, I congratulate Honourable Gbenga Peter Makanjuola on his emergence as Deputy Governor’s candidate of our great party.
“Indeed, Honourable Makanjuola has history with our great party having served as Honourable member for Ekiti/Isin/Oke-Ero/Irepodun Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
“He has also served as Deputy Chief of Staff to former Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki in the 8th National Assembly.
“Thus, his loyalty and sterling commitment to the party, as well as the party’s leadership’s confidence and trust in him, are reflected in this award.
“The candidacy of Honourable Makanjuola is a round peg in a round hole, as he has the dire needed experience and capabilities to complement Alhaji Yaman.” he said.
Honourable Marooph Bintinlaye went on to say that Makanjuola’s emergence will bring enormous value and credibility to the PDP’s political fortunes in the state, as well as serve as a catalyst for the party’s eventual election victory.
In addition, he wished the Yaman-Makanjuola victory in the coming polls.
Honourable Bintinlaye subsequently pleaded with other candidates for deputy governorship to unite with Gbenga Makanjuola and all other party candidates in the wider interest of Kwara South and the party as a whole.
