A leading aspirant of Boripe/Ifelodun/Odo-Otin Federal Constituency on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Osun State ahead of the 2023 General Elections, Honourable Abayomi Adegoke has embarked on visits to the party’s Elder Caucus and stakeholders in his constituency.
This is in furtherance of his consultation and engagement with PDP delegates, leaders and stakeholders of the constituency and presentation of political manifestos tagged: “My Pact With My Constituents.”
Upon his meeting with the leaders and stakeholders of the major opposition party in the state, Abayomi garnered support and commendations of the who is who in the politics of the state and he was assured that his aspiration would be realised.
On Monday, May 16, 2022, Adegoke was led by a 78-year-old, Elder Soba Abiona and host of other PDP leaders in his Campaign Team to address the leaders of the party in Odo-Otin Local Government of Osun at the Okuku residence of the former governor and the leader of the party, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola.
The aspirant used the opportunity to express his gratitude to the former governor for political mentorship of about two decades.
He appreciated the good people of Odo Otin for the love and support which they have been showering on him over the years. He described the local government as his “second home.”
Alhaji Fatai Ikeola, Mr. Segun Adebisi and Alhaja Ijadunola (Iyamileko) presided over the meeting on behalf of the Chairman, Elder’s Caucus, Odo Otin Local Government, Alhaji Razak Oyelami and the leaders of the party in the local government, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola and Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun who is a former PDP Deputy National Chairman (South).
Honourable Abayomi Adegoke solicited for unalloyed support of the leaders of the party in a bid to realise his political aspiration by clinching the Boripe/Ifelodun/Odo-Otin Federal Constituency’s ticket under the PDP.
The financial expert cum politician promised to bring a good, charismatic and quality representation to the Boripe/Ifelodun/Odo-Otin Federal Constituency, saying his wealth of experience in the public and private sectors would be brought to the fore if elected during the primary and general elections.
In the same vein, Honourable Abayomi Adegoke was in Ikirun, headquarters of Ifelodun Local Government Area of Osun on Tuesday, May 17, where he met with the leaders of the party across all the 12 wards in the local government.
Adegoke said he was using the visits to intimate and remind them of his plans for the party and the people. He added that if elected, he would use the opportunity to make the constituency the envy of all.
While expressing his concern about the state of Nigeria, the aspirant declared that only a vibrant composition of the 10th National Assembly in 2023, being the only institution empowered by law to work with the Federal Executives, in order to proffer a lasting solution to the problems of insecurity, corruption, epileptic power supply, educational collapse and lack of medical facilities that engulf the nation.
According to Adegoke, only determined and substantial young people have been able to change the course of history on the world scene.
“Fresh potentials are needed. It is young people who have integrity, experience and energy that are direly needed to change the narrative of this country. I have been in the core struggle for about two decades now. I worked under former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola as Executive Assistant on MDGs and we executed projects in all the 30 Local Government and Area Office, Osun State.
“People like myself are not new to politics. We have been there, we know all the pros and cons. We can actualise our plans and effectively deliver. We have the technical know-how because we have been there,” Adegoke said.
In response, Honourable T.A Bello, Chairman Elder’s Caucus, Ifelodun Local Government, who presided over the meeting applauded the brilliance of Honourable Adegoke.
According to Honourable Bello, it is very uncommon to have youths who are experienced in the polity of things as well as possession of avid experience in leadership.
