Ayodeji Balogun, better known as Wizkid, a Nigerian artist, has apologized to his Ghanaian fans for missing a concert where he was scheduled to perform.
On Saturday, the event was scheduled to take place at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The absence of Wizkid received a lot of criticism from his followers.
However, the musician apologized for missing the event on Sunday via his Twitter page. He claimed that both safety and production had problems.
Part of his statement reads, “My brand is something I don’t joke with! I sincerely apologise to everyone who made the effort to come out for me last night. I was Charged up, looking forward to doing this show.
“However, please understand that every decision I made co-sided with honouring my fans, and would only make a drastic decision like this because it was the right thing to do.”
The singer also said that a new date and details for the concert would be shared soon.
