The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Atiku Abubakar has come under fire from the Federal Government of Nigeria over a recent remark he made on the performance of the Buhari Administration.
During his campaign in Akure, Atiku claimed that the Buhari administration had done nothing for Nigerians during its eight years in power.
However, Atiku might not be aware of what is happening in Nigeria because he currently stays in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, according to Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture, who was addressing at the seventh edition of PMB Administration Scorecard on Monday in Abuja.
The PMB Administration Scorecard series, which highlights the accomplishments of the Buhari administration, was introduced in October.
Mohammed said Atiku was in forefront of some presidential candidates whose tendencies are to downplay the achievements of the Buhari Administration in their desperation for power, ahead of the 2023 elections.
“The worst offender in this regard has been the presidential candidate of the PDP, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar,” he said.
“During his recent campaign in Akure, the former VP was quoted as saying the APC had not done anything for Nigeria in eight years. What a preposterous statement from somebody who should know.
I guess we can excuse His Excellency the former Vice President who, until recently, had fully relocated to Dubai, thus losing touch with Nigeria, “the minister said and further highlighted some of the achievements of the Buhari Administration in the areas of security and social employment in Adamawa, the home state of the former vice president.
