The G-5 comprising Governors Nyesom Wike (Rivers); Samuel Ortom (Benue); Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia) and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu) has arrived Bauchi, the state capital to lure Governor Bala Mohammed to their camp.
The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Atiku Abubakar and Mohammed are rumored to have a falling out, and the G5 is reportedly looking to capitalize on this.
Without Oyo Governor Seyi Makinde, who was also in the entourage, they arrived at the Government House at around 12:30 p.m.
As a prerequisite for supporting Atiku in 2023, the G-5 has been calling for Senator Iyorchia Ayu, the party’s national chairman, to quit.
Mohammed had complained to Ayu that Atiku had ignored him following the presidential primary elections, choosing instead to visit other candidates.
The governor of Bauchi, who serves as the vice chairman of the Atiku Campaign Council Northeast, claimed that Atiku chose campaign coordinators from his State without consulting him.
