Goods worth millons of naira has been destroyed by fire in Osogbo the capital city of Osun State.

The fire which the cause was still unknown as at the time of writing this report stated at around 1am razed a building at the “Oja Oba” Market in Osogbo.

One of fire victims Identified as Ishola Olalekan narrated that “no one can say the exact cause of the fire, because no one was there when it started, it was the vigilante passing by that first saw the fire burning and also don’t know the exact source of the fire and immediately called the attention of the people.
“My shop is part of affected shops, I sell animal skin,cowries,and other things that have been prepared for use,there’s one called ”imi ori Ibo” which I always sell to the foreigners and I have like 12 of them prepared and each of them cost like one hundred and thirty thousand Naira.
“Apart from the cowries and animal skin that I haven’t use that is in the shop, a lot of different thing are inside, there is a soap there that is being prepared which is going to Brazil so what I can say is that in all the shops that got burnt today it cost more than 100 million”
Another victim identified as Kudurat Ganiyu stated that “we can’t actually say the exact cause of the fire because we were called around 3am and on arrival we met a lot of people including the firefighter, the neighbors.
“The neighbors fetched water and all but let’s accept fate because with the effort put in by the people, the fire shouldn’t have been this much property destroyed is worth 100million”
However the victims praised the effort of the firefighters, whom tried all their best possible in other to contain the fire, “the fire fighters were on time they came very early, and when there water finished they called their colleges who came with another tank of water and stayed till morning around 6:30 before the left”
