Security personnel in Edo State have detained two adolescents after being tipped off by the herbalist they allegedly approached in exchange for cash.
The suspects were detained in Oluku, Ovia North-East LGA of the state. They were identified as Daniel Sunday, 19, from Akwa-Ibom State, and Ikponmwosa Ogbebor, 19, from Edo State.
A female herbalist they approached for the rituals provided a tip that led to their arrest by members of the Edo State Security Vigilante Network.
Col. Kole Oshoriamhe Omomia (Rtd), the State Coordinator for the network, revealed that the suspects had admitted to being involved in a ritualistic search for money.
They would sacrifice any portion of their bodies for the ceremony to help them get rich rapidly, he continued, rather than killing people for the ceremonies.
