Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, said PDP can only ignore the five governors at a great risk, insisting that Ayu should resign as chairman.
Governors Wike, Ortom, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, and Seyi Makinde of Oyo State had sought the resignation of Iyorchia Ayu, the PDP’s national chairman, because Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential candidate, is also from the North.
Ortom, who clarified that he had no issues with any party members, added that if the demands of the five governors are not met, he is unable to predict the outcome of the presidential election.
The PDP’s acting state chairman, Isaac Mffo, promised the crowd that the party will win the elections in 2023 and emphasized that it had no opposition in Benue.
