The Polytechnic, Ojoku and Face of Liberty International have collaborated in a bid to educate the students on the need for entrepreneurship.
Speaking during event at the take-off campus of the Polytechnic in Ilemona on Wednesday, Rector of The Polytechnic, Ojoku, Mr. Oyewale Salaudeen Ajibola commended Face of Liberty International for extending its hands towards partnership with the institution.
Oyewale who was duly represented by AG Registrar of the Polytechnic, Abdulsalam Olaide, said “as evidentiary, this is yet another dimension of our creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. I am very glad and I must commend the collaborator of this summit, Face of Liberty International.
“Entrepreneurship is a path we have taken in good course to challenge our innovation more. Our institution is getting into the fountain of human relation and partnership.
“It is without doubt that this event enabled us all to gather factual and real life experiences pertaining to kickstarting business activities. I also believe that this event, which is more or less, a training will give each of us greater understanding of the responsibility and confidence, in holding a position as an industry leader and a strong competitor,” he said.
Oyewale enjoined the students to avail themselves of the huge opportunities in entrepreneurship development programme of the Federal Government which is aimed to drastically reduce unemployment and ensure increased self-employment among graduates.
Also speaking, Hammed J. Sulaiman said the partnership is to forge a great strategy for prospective entrepreneurs who would want to grow their business and share some of the responsibilities of being an entrepreneur.
Hammed, who is the public relations officer of the Polytechnic said, “as an institution we understand that it is our responsibility to proffer solutions to problems in our immediate environment and indeed the society at large.
“Unemployability is one of the contemporary challenges facing the country. We decided to partner with Face of Liberty International to educate our students on the importance of entrepreneurship which is the future of the workforce.
We are beyond committed to converting brain into brawn for Nigeria and indeed the globe by accelerating development, and moving directly to more advanced stages such as a knowledge-based tutelage.
Hammed also called on the government to focus on providing the needed resources, environment and infrastructure that will aid lots of businesses.
Also, Leonard Ogunweide, the founder and the Cheif Executive Officer of Face of Liberty International said the choice of impacting knowledge on the student is because they are the next set of leaders.
“Our choice of students is due to the fact that they are the next set of leaders that could change the community. The fathers and the mothers are our target too, but not the primary target. The energy they have to draw things have waned due to age, responsibility and other factors.
“Students on the other hand have no responsibilities other than attend classes, press phones and buy data. They have no family yet to cater for.
“We are here to open the mind of the people to entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial process. We have seen that so many people fail at what they need to do and this made their businesses failed. Everybody wants to do what the other people are doing without trying to knowing the scope of the business or understand why the other persons started the business in the first place. Hence they keep failing. They incur loans they can’t pay back and they start running from polls to polls.
“So we took it upon ourselves to live up to our slogan which is to use individual creativity to improve humanity.
“We thank the management of the Polytechnic, Ojoku for allowing us.
“We taught them the concept of entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial process, challenges and opportunities therein.
The event was graced by Dr. Oluwafemi Kehinde of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering; Dr Owoseni Adekunle, the Ag. Academic Director; Mr Azeez Sulaiman Olawale, CEO of Bright Future Integrated Ventures; Mr Adeniyi Abdullah, Ag. Head of Accounting Department; among other staffers.
