The All Progressives Congress (APC) Women Presidential Campaign Team was moved by the destruction caused by the flood in the towns of Benue State and gave victims N20 million in cash and relief supplies.
The crew was in Makurdi, the capital of Benue State, and was led by Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the spouse of the APC presidential candidate.
Dr. Samuel Ortom, the governor of the state, was informed by Tinubu that they had come to the state to offer their condolences to the people following the sad flood catastrophe that had devastated multiple towns.
The delegation’s leader, who was joined by Hajiya Nana Shetimma, the wife of the vice presidential candidate, said they knew the suffering that the flood had caused people all throughout the country and that they felt those sufferings.
The APC women’s campaign team has chosen to travel to flood-affected areas and provide aid before the 2023 presidential campaigns get underway, the senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial District in the upper house of the National Assembly further stated.
While delivering the relief supplies, Senator Oluremi Tinubu made an announcement about a N10 million cash contribution to support 200 people with N50,000 apiece so they can operate small enterprises.
In spite of the delegation’s affiliation with various political parties, Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom praised them for empathizing with the victims through the state government.
