At about 11:00 p.m. yesterday, two residents of Ora-Igbomina in Ifedayo Local Government Area, Mr. Sunday Oyekanmi Adeyeye (popularly known as Tayese) and Mr. Sunday Adewumi, were abducted by suspected Fulani herdsmen.

According to reports, the abductors arrived in large numbers and invaded the victims’ residences. They reportedly fired gunshots into the air, creating fear and confusion among residents before forcefully taking the victims away to an unknown location.

The incident has thrown the entire community into panic, as residents now live in fear over the worsening security situation in the area. This disturbing development is yet another reminder of the urgent need for decisive action to protect lives and property, especially in rural communities that have become increasingly vulnerable to criminal attacks.

Confirming the incident, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Ifedayo Local Government disclosed that he mobilized his men to Ora-Igbomina last night to patrol the town, during which warning gunshots were fired. He further assured that his men would move into the surrounding bushes this morning to commence a search for the abductees.
