Deputy Senate Leader and Senator representing Kwara South Senatorial District, Arc. Lola Ashiru has announced a comprehensive health intervention programme aimed at improving access to quality healthcare and strengthening primary health services across the district.
The initiative, tagged Kwara South Health Intervention Projects: 2026 Medical Outreach, will feature a three-day free medical outreach in selected communities.
It will also feature the distribution of medical equipment and essential drugs to five Primary Health Care (PHC) centres.
According to a post on the social media page of the lawmaker, the intervention is part of sustained efforts by his office to enhance healthcare delivery, promote health awareness and contribute to the overall well-being of residents across Kwara South.
The medical outreach will commence on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Ile Abasi Hall, Ekan, Oke-Ero Local Government Area, by 10:00 a.m.
The programme will continue on Wednesday, January 28, at the Primary Health Care Centre, University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Igbaja, in Ifelodun Local Government Area, also by 10:00 a.m.
On Thursday, January 29, the outreach will be held at the Basic Health Care Centre, Omupo, in Ifelodun Local Government Area, starting at 10:00 a.m., bringing the three-day medical exercise to a close.
In addition to the outreach, the senator’s office will on Friday, January 30, 2026, distribute medical equipment and drugs to selected health facilities across the district.
The beneficiary centres include Idofin-Igbana Primary Health Care Centre, Koro Primary Health Care Centre, Isapa Basic Health Care Centre, Model Primary Health Care Centre, Owu-Isin, and Ilale Primary Health Care Centre.
Ashiru noted that the provision of modern medical equipment and essential drugs would further boost service delivery at the grassroots and reduce the burden on residents seeking basic healthcare.
The lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to people-oriented programmes, stressing that access to quality healthcare remains a key pillar of sustainable community development in Kwara South.
