The Owode Market Youth Association of Offa, Kwara State, has called on the Deputy Senate Leader and Senator representing Kwara South Senatorial District, Arc Oyelola Yissa Ashiru, to consider contesting for the governorship of Kwara State in the 2027 elections.
This was contained in a New Year message and appeal signed by the Youth President, Mustapha Saheed City.
The association commended Senator Ashiru for his dedication and tireless representation of Kwara South in the National Assembly.
The youths described him as a leader whose vision and commitment make him an outstanding candidate for the state’s highest office.

“Your leadership skills, vision, and dedication to the people of Kwara State make you an exceptional candidate for the office of Governor. “We believe that your candidacy would be a game-changer, taking our state to new heights,” the association said in the statement.
The message concluded with a humble plea for Senator Ashiru to give serious consideration to their request, while wishing him a Happy New Year 2026 and reaffirming their support for his continued service to the people of Kwara South.
The appeal adds to growing voices within the state urging political heavyweights to position themselves ahead of the 2027 governorship contest.
