The Oroki Crystals Club, a foremost Osogbo-based social group has celebrated its third anniversary and Annual General Meeting (AGM) with a renewed commitment to community development, welfare support and socio-economic empowerment.
The colourful event, which held on December 27, 2025, at Ripples Hotel, Osogbo, also witnessed the unanimous return of the club’s executive members to pilot the affairs of the organisation for another two-year term.
Speaking at the gathering, the President of the club, Alhaji (Engr.) Muideen Bello, expressed deep appreciation to members for their resilience, unity and support.
He stated that the club has grown into one of the most impactful social groups in Osogbo and Osun State within three years of its existence.
He said the club has remained committed to its core mandate of “touching lives,” stressing that its interventions over the past year alone had impacted hundreds of residents across the state.
According to him, the club carried out a large-scale medical outreach during the Osun-Osogbo Festival at the Ataoja’s Palace, where over 500 residents received free medical screenings, consultations and drugs.
He also disclosed that the club recently secured the release of ten patients detained at the Osun State Teaching Hospital over unpaid medical bills, while Mrs. Munirat, a petty trader, was empowered with ₦237,000 to strengthen her business.
Bello added that the club also awarded scholarships to six students through its quiz and debate competitions.
He disclosed that the total cost of the various interventions exceeded ₦2 million, funded through members’ dues and donations from patrons and matrons.
“As part of our next phase of intervention, we are set to revive youth sports development in secondary schools through the reintroduction of the Principal Cup,” he announced.
On the club’s internal welfare, the president revealed that its monthly contributory scheme has grown to an annual turnover of about ₦30 million, while its cooperative society currently holds members’ deposits of about ₦5 million.
He further disclosed that the cooperative society recorded a profit of about ₦800,000 in the last financial year, with dividends expected to be paid to members by January 2026.
The event also featured a public lecture delivered by Dr. Opaleye Micheal on the topic, “Tax Reforms and Implementation in Nigeria,” where he examined ongoing fiscal reforms and their implications for businesses and citizens.
Dignitaries at the event included Teju Aregbesola, Wole Olateju, Kabir Oduola, Muideen Alaka, Mrs. Basirat Akinloye and Oluwole Stephen, among others.
Members in attendance included Alhaji Bello Muideen, Engr. Salami Abiodun, Alhaji Mutiu Olarewaju, Pharm. Ropo Ogunwale, Adekola Adebowale, Sakariyah Adekunle, Oyebanji Taiwo, Komolafe Olalekan, Ademola Tomori, Hon. Akinloye Isiaka Muhammed, Ajayi Abiodun Olalekan, and several others.
The well-attended ceremony ended with renewed pledges by members to sustain the club’s humanitarian interventions and expand its impact across Osun State.
