The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), observing that both criminal activity and environmental annoyance there had reached a worrying point, has committed to give the ongoing clean up exercise at Dei-Dei and environs special attention.

The operation, which started with the dismantling of shanties and illegal warehouses near the Dei-Dei crossroads, is being described as a continuation of a citywide clean up.

Ikharo Attah, the FCT Minister’s Senior Special Assistant for Monitoring, Inspection, and Enforcement, said that the FCT Minister has ordered that all violations in the Deidei axis be dealt with right away.

Attah promised that the joint taskforce would make sure that the community’s sense of calm returned after noting that Deidei had turned into a hotbed for alarming criminal activity.

He claims that Deidei Junction has turned into a crime hotspot and a place where locals’ safety is seriously in jeopardy.

Attah explained that, ” FCT Minister passed through this place and frowned bitterly at what he saw around here and for a very longtime enforcement hasn’t come to Deidei, because it is a very volatile region. Deidei junction is very notorious, coupled with the traffic problem here.
