Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun yesterday rolled out the redesigned Executive Council Chambers at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, positioning the project as a strategic investment in the state’s long-term urban regeneration blueprint.
The governor, who made the disclosure through an update on his official X handle, stressed that the intervention became necessary after the former chambers slipped into what he described as an “embarrassing state of decay.” He noted that the administration opted for a remodel—rather than a fresh build—to reinforce prudence while delivering a modern workspace befitting the state’s leadership.
According to him, the refurbished chambers now integrate cutting-edge digital systems, enhanced lighting and improved executive seating, all designed to support faster, smarter governance outcomes.
Former Governor Olusegun Osoba commissioned the facility during a brief event that underscored the state’s investment in continuity, tradition and forward planning. Abiodun commended Osoba’s sustained engagements with the administration, noting that his endorsement of ongoing renewal projects—including the ongoing upgrades at the MKO Abiola Stadium and the Cultural Centre—validated the state’s development trajectory.
The governor explained that the project keys into his administration’s ISEYA framework, particularly the push for infrastructure renewal across major population hubs. He highlighted upgrades within the Ibara GRA and other urban corridors as evidence of a broader effort to modernise Ogun’s civic environment while preserving its long-standing reputation for administrative orderliness.
Abiodun further positioned the remodeled chambers as part of a deliberate strategy to deepen investor confidence.
“With every regeneration project we complete, we move closer to building a structured and economically competitive Ogun State—one that is ready for long-term growth,” he said.
He expressed appreciation to members of the Executive Council for their role in pushing through the administration’s reform agenda, reiterating that the government remains committed to building infrastructure that stands the test of time and reflects the aspirations of its citizens.
