The Ajase-Ipo Volleyball Club (AVC) has earned promotion to the Nigeria Volleyball Premier League.
This markes a historic milestone for the club and the entire Ajase-Ipo community.
The team’s head coach, Afelele Taiye Hassan, who made the announcement on Sunday, November 2, 2025.
He described the qualification as a dream come true, attributing the achievement to dedication, teamwork, and unwavering community support.
According to him, Ajase-Ipo VC gained promotion from this season’s Division One to the 2026 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League, placing the town among Nigeria’s elite volleyball destinations.
“Our qualification means everything to us. It’s not just about the players; it’s about the pride of Ajase-Ipo. We’ve worked so hard for this moment, and with the help of our sponsors and supporters, we’ve secured our place in the topmost and most prestigious volleyball league in the country,” Coach Afelele said.
He expressed appreciation to the Ajase-Ipo Descendant Union (ADU), which has sponsored the club since its inception.
The coach also extended special gratitude to the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ismail Yahaya Muhammed Atoloye Alebiosu, and his Queen, Alhaja Rukayat Adeola Atoloye Alebiosu, for their consistent royal backing and encouragement.
He also acknowledged the club’s board of association, comprising Alhaji Sikiru Aliu (Patron), Alhaja Shakirat Aroworowon (Matron), Alhaji Maruf Musa (Chairman and ADU National President), Chief Aiyedun Hammed (Executive Director) and Mr. Jide (ADU National Youth Leader) for their strategic leadership and support in steering the club to success.
Further appreciation was extended to prominent Ajase-Ipo sons and sponsors whose generosity has kept the club’s vision alive, including Dr. Lukman Odejobi and the entire AIDU North America, Mr. Semiu Aliu and the ADU United Kingdom chapter, Alhaji Prince Lameed Otunola Salami, Prof. Wale Sulaiman, CON, Mr Kehinde Hussein Afelele UK, and Engr. Ibrahim Aroworowon.
“These are the people who believed in our potential and made it possible for us to compete and succeed. Their kindness, financial support, and encouragement have lifted Ajase-Ipo VC to the highest volleyball platform in Nigeria,” the coach added.
Ajase-Ipo VC will now feature among the twelve elite clubs that compete in the Nigeria Volleyball Premier League, the nation’s top-tier competition organized by the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF).
