Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has assured that the internal issues rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are being amicably resolved within the fold, describing them as a “family affair.”
Adeleke gave the assurance on Monday in Abuja while speaking with journalists after presiding over the inaugural meeting of the Accommodation Sub-Committee of the PDP National Convention Committee.
The governor, who serves as Deputy Chairman of the Convention Committee and Chairman of the Sub-Committee, maintained that the opposition party remains united and well-prepared for its forthcoming national convention scheduled for October 15 and 16.
According to him, all necessary arrangements have been concluded to ensure a hitch-free and successful convention.
“We have just concluded the inaugural meeting of the Accommodation Sub-Committee. Everyone was present, and we have resolved all outstanding issues to ensure the convention proceeds smoothly. We believe it will be very successful,” Adeleke said.
Dismissing reports of disunity within the PDP, Adeleke reiterated that disagreements within the party were being addressed through dialogue and mutual understanding.
“I can assure you that we are meeting and resolving our issues internally. It is a family affair. We do not want anyone outside to add sugar, pepper, or salt to the matter. The PDP is a family, and we know how to manage our affairs,” he stated.
The governor emphasised that the PDP’s strength lies in its internal cohesion, adherence to due process, and commitment to democratic principles, adding that the forthcoming convention would reflect these values.
