Hon BJ Commences Disbursement of POS Machines To 100 Women In Kwara

An All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant for the Eesa/Shawo/Igbodun Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Abdulrauf Bolaji, popularly known as Hon. BJ, has commenced the disbursement of Point of Sale (POS) machines to 100 women across Offa and its environs.

The empowerment programme, which began on Wednesday at the Offa Descendants Union (ODU) Hall, is part of Hon. Dauda’s grassroots economic initiative aimed at supporting petty traders and promoting self-reliance among residents of the constituency.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Dauda said the initiative was designed to empower women engaged in small-scale businesses, to improve their financial capacity and boost digital transactions in the local economy.

He explained that the POS machines would serve as a means of income generation for the beneficiaries, reduce unemployment, and complement the Federal Government’s cashless policy at the grassroots level.

“This empowerment is part of my commitment to economic inclusion and community development. We must continue to support our traders and small business owners who play a vital role in sustaining our local economy,” he said.

Hon. Dauda noted that his decision to focus on small-scale empowerment stems from his belief that community growth must start from the bottom up.

“When we support our traders, we support our families, our youths, and our future,” he added.

The initiative, according to him, will continue in phases to reach more constituents in the coming days.
