Court Orders Restoration Of Suspended Edo LG Chairmen

The Federal High Court sitting in Warri has ordered the Nigeria Police Force and the Inspector-General of Police to maintain the status quo in the ongoing legal tussle over the enforcement of tinted glass permit.

The suit, marked FHC/WR/CS/103/2025: John Aikpokpo-Martins v. Inspector-General of Police & Nigeria Police Force, came up for hearing on Friday.

In its interim ruling, the court directed the police authorities to respect judicial processes and refrain from taking further action pending the determination of the substantive matter.

Speaking after the proceedings, senior advocate Kunle Edun, who led the claimant’s legal team, described the ruling as a significant step towards upholding the rule of law and curbing arbitrary enforcement practices.

Details of the ruling, including the adjourned date for continuation of the case, are expected in due course.
