The Kwankwaso National Network (KNN) has debunked rumours suggesting that former Kano State governor and presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has submitted a letter to defect to another political party.
In a statement on Thursday, the National Coordinator of KNN, Asiwaju Mashood Shittu, described the claims as “baseless fabrications” aimed at creating unnecessary tension within the political space.
He urged Nigerians to disregard the reports, stressing that Kwankwaso remains committed to his political ideals and focused on service to the people.
Senator Kwankwaso also personally addressed the matter, saying: “We have not made any such submission to any party. Please rely only on official channels for updates.”
Shittu added that the rumour was a calculated attempt to sow confusion and distract the former Defence Minister from his engagements with Nigerians.
“Kwankwaso is transparent and unwavering in his commitment to the people. We urge supporters and the general public not to be misled by political noise,” he said.
