The Habiba Dagana (Hadis) Foundation has successfully concluded its three-day programme on technology, ethics, and solutions for digital tool usage, held at Ludlow Hall, Offa Grammar School, Offa, Kwara State.
The programme, which began on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, ended today with a lecture delivered by Mr. Yusuf Ajani Sholola, Head of the Department of Mass Communication at Summit University.
Speaking during his session, Mr. Sholola enlightened participants on the concept of digital self, describing it as a person’s complete online presence.
He emphasized the importance of being intentional about online activities, noting that “people can easily know more about you by what you post online.”
He further highlighted the significance of identity in the digital age, stressing that a strong digital identity builds credibility and trust, especially in online transactions.
He cautioned participants about the risks of digital exposure and encouraged them to adopt responsible digital practices.
Following the lecture, a stakeholders’ roundtable discussion, led by the Hadis Foundation State Coordinator, Mr. Abdulquadri, provided a platform for broader engagement on the project theme.
Participating schools included Offa Grammar School, Adesoye College, St. Claire’s Anglican Girl’s Grammar School, and Iyeru Okin School for Special Needs.
Certificates were presented to participating schools, project coordinator and team members in recognition of their contributions.
In an interview, one of the participants, Moshood Habibat Adeola, expressed gratitude to the organizers, commending the initiative for “empowering digital citizens for a brighter future.”
Project Coordinator, Dr. Gafar Isiaka, also shared his delight at the programme’s impact, explaining that it served as a platform to connect community-based schools, private schools, and special needs institutions.
He noted that the project fostered both social interaction and technological awareness among participants.
The Hadis Foundation expressed optimism that the knowledge gained would encourage students to use digital tools responsibly while maximizing opportunities available online.
