
Commander of the Osun State Amotekun Corps, High Chief Dr. Hon. Isaac Adekunle Omoyele, has reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining a cordial working relationship with journalists in the state.
He described the media as indispensable partners in the success of any organisation.
Dr. Omoyele stated this while receiving the executive members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), OSBC Chapel, led by Chairman, Comrade Lateef Agboola, during a courtesy visit to his office in Osogbo.
He commended the union for its longstanding collaboration with the Amotekun Corps, adding that his command is ready to partner with the NUJ, OSBC Chapel, to ensure a successful Press Week scheduled to begin on September 28. He also pledged to host the church service that will usher in the event.
“Journalists remain critical companions to any organisation or individual that seeks genuine progress. Osun Amotekun will continue to strengthen this partnership for the greater good,” Omoyele said.
Earlier, Comrade Agboola said the visit was to further consolidate the cordial relationship between the OSBC Chapel and the Amotekun Corps.
He congratulated Dr. Omoyele on his recent installation as the Onijegun of Ijegun, Iseyin, by the Aseyin of Iseyinland, Oba Sefiu Olawale Oyebola, Olayeri III.
The NUJ team, which included Deputy Chairman Comrade Olawumi Olaniyi, General Secretary Comrade Kamil Raheem, and Treasurer Comrade Bukola Osunwo, also presented a framed portrait to Dr. Omoyele in recognition of his new traditional title.
