
The University of Offa, Kwara State, has declared several teaching and non-teaching positions vacant, calling on qualified Nigerians to apply as part of its expansion drive to strengthen manpower across its faculties.
In a statement issued by the Acting Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mr Jibola Oyewale, the private institution, licensed by the National Universities Commission (NUC), said the vacancies cut across the Faculties of Social and Management Sciences, Sciences and Computing, Education, as well as the University Library and Laboratory Services.
Available Positions
The advertised positions cover the ranks of Professors, Associate Professors, Senior Lecturers, Lecturers I & II, Assistant Lecturers, and Graduate Assistants. Departments seeking fresh appointments include:
Faculty of Social and Management Sciences: Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Mass Communication, Political Science.
Faculty of Sciences and Computing: Physics with Electronics, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Microbiology, Software Engineering, Biological Sciences.
Faculty of Education: Business Education, Social Studies Education, Economics Education, Biology Education.
University Library: University Librarian, Library Assistants.
Laboratory Staff: Laboratory Assistants.
Qualifications
Professor: PhD in the relevant discipline, minimum of 10 years’ teaching and research experience with at least two years as Associate Professor, proven publications in reputable local and international journals, administrative experience, and ICT proficiency.
Associate Professor: PhD with eight years’ teaching and research experience (two as Senior Lecturer), administrative experience, and ICT proficiency.
Senior Lecturer: PhD with at least five years’ teaching and research experience (two as Lecturer I), administrative experience, and ICT proficiency.
Lecturer I: PhD with a minimum of three years’ teaching and research experience (two as Lecturer II), ICT proficiency.
Lecturer II: PhD with a minimum of three years’ teaching and research experience (two as Assistant Lecturer), ICT proficiency and ability to teach with multimedia technology.
Assistant Lecturer: Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in a relevant field, publications in learned journals, NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
Graduate Assistant: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second-Class Lower Division, NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
University Librarian: Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or related field with at least 10 years’ post-qualification experience in a university or comparable institution, and ICT competence.
Library Assistant: Bachelor’s degree or HND in Library Science/Library & Information Science, NYSC discharge or exemption certificate, and ICT competence.
Laboratory Assistant: National Diploma (ND) in Science Laboratory Technology (minimum Lower Credit) with at least three years’ cognate experience, five O’Level credits including English Language, and ICT proficiency.
The University stated that salaries and allowances are as approved by its Governing Council, with conditions of service aligned with global best practices.
