Tragedy struck in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State on Sunday night as armed men invaded the home of the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman, Muhammad Swasun, and abducted his wife and daughter.
Eyewitnesses said the hoodlums scaled the fence of the residence before unleashing terror with sporadic gunfire to scare neighbours. They later forced their way into one of the rooms and whisked away the victims at gunpoint.
A party official, who pleaded anonymity, confirmed the incident yesterday, saying the chairman’s family had been thrown into trauma by the abduction.
As at press time, police authorities were yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
