The Kaduna State Police Command has invited former governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, alongside seven leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), for questioning over allegations bordering on criminal conspiracy, public incitement, and inflicting injuries during a recent political clash.

In a letter dated September 4 and signed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Mr. Uzainu Abdullahi, the ADC State Chairman was directed to present El-Rufai and the others at the State CID office on September 8.

Those summoned include Bashir Sa’idu, Jafaru Sani, Ubaidullah Mohammed (popularly called 30), Nasiru Maikano, Aminu Abita, and Ahmed Rufa’i Hussaini, also known as Mikiya.

The correspondence, titled Investigation Activities: Case of Criminal Conspiracy, Inciting Disturbance of Public Peace, Mischief and Causing Grievous Hurt, explained that the exercise was to allow the individuals respond to allegations levelled against them.

Meanwhile, security personnel on Wednesday sealed off the ADC’s secretariat at No. 4 Ali Akilu Road, Kaduna. The development occurred just hours before the party’s Northwest leadership was due to pay a condolence visit to sympathise with members injured during an attack on a joint SDP–ADC meeting last week.

Eyewitnesses disclosed that several police patrol vehicles were stationed around the premises, effectively denying access to the opposition party’s office.
