The Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, has approved the appointment of Dr. Latifat Kehinde Olatinwo as the Acting Director of the institution’s Centre for Gender Studies.
The appointment, contained in a notice signed by the Registrar, Dr. Kikelomo W. Sallee, was dated August 26, 2025.
Dr. Olatinwo, who hails from Offa in Kwara State, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development.
She joined the services of KWASU in 2017 from the Federal University, Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State.
A seasoned academic, Dr. Olatinwo obtained her Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Agricultural Extension from the University of Ilorin.
Her research interests cut across gender-related issues in agriculture and rural development.
Over the years, she has made significant contributions to scholarship and community development, particularly in empowering women in rural communities.
Colleagues describe her as a passionate scholar committed to advancing gender equity in research and practice.
Her appointment is seen as a strategic move by the KWASU management to further strengthen the Centre for Gender Studies in driving gender-focused academic and community initiatives.
With her wealth of experience, Dr. Olatinwo is expected to bring fresh perspectives and impactful leadership to the Centre, aligning with the university’s vision of fostering inclusivity and social transformation through education.
