TikTok sensation, Habeeb Hamzat, better known as Peller, has tendered a public apology to his teeming fans following a viral livestream that threw many of his followers into panic last week.
The 20-year-old social media influencer broke his silence on Monday via his Instagram page, where he pleaded for forgiveness over his past actions and pledged to adopt a more responsible lifestyle.
In a heartfelt post, he wrote: “If u know I have offended u before please forgive me. I promise to be on my best behavior this time. Any of u that put me in mind please forgive me. I promise to make things right this time. God bless u all. I don’t mean most things I do online. I am more than a good boy in real life.”
The apology followed days of speculation triggered by a disturbing livestream on Wednesday night. The video, which has since made the rounds across platforms, captured Peller in a heated altercation with unidentified men before the screen suddenly went dark. The clip ignited fears that the influencer might have been harmed.
However, the Lagos State Police Command swiftly moved to allay concerns. Its spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed that the young content creator was “safe and sound” at home, alongside his vehicle, phones, and other belongings.
“We are investigating the allegation, but we can confirm that the person in question, Habeeb, popularly known as Peller, is at home safe and sound. His vehicle is also intact, all his phones and properties, nothing was missing,” Hundeyin told Channels Television.
He added that detectives were reviewing the incident to ascertain whether it was a prank, a staged performance, or a mere misunderstanding.
Peller, who shot to fame in 2023 with his dramatic short-form videos and boisterous livestreams, has built a reputation for courting both adulation and controversy. While his online antics often spark criticism, he remains one of the most recognisable young voices in Nigeria’s growing TikTok community.
With his latest plea for forgiveness, many of his fans are now waiting to see whether the influencer will truly keep to his promise of a more restrained and responsible digital presence.
