The Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode (MOK) Foundation, has recently announced a significant achievement in its health initiative by covering the medical expenses of at least 157 patients across five partnered Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in Kwara State.
The Executive Director of the foundation, Mr. Saheed Lawal highlighted the foundation’s ongoing commitment to enhancing healthcare access for the local populace.
Mr. Lawal explained that over the past year, the foundation has undertaken numerous initiatives aimed at improving the health and well-being of individuals beyond the partnered PHCs.
He mentioned that there have been countless instances where the foundation covered medical bills for various individuals across different states, actions that, unfortunately, weren’t documented.
This outreach aligns with the vision of the foundation’s esteemed founder, Alhaji Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode, who is driven by a mantra focused on putting smiles on people’s faces.
Mr. Lawal emphasized the importance of continued collaboration with government efforts, recognizing that the government cannot address all healthcare challenges alone.
To provide a clearer picture of their activities, Mr. Lawal detailed the breakdown of patients treated at the partnered PHCs over the months of April, June, and July. In April, the foundation supported 57 patients, with 12 bills paid at Lamodi Clinic, 14 at Olomowewe PHC, 11 at Igboro PHC, 5 at Igbona PHC, and another 5 at Abogunugun PHC. In June, the foundation assisted 51 patients, with 12 patients in Lamodi PHC, 15 in Olomowewe, 10 in Igboro, 8 in Abogunugun, and 6 in Igbona. Finally, in July, they helped 49 patients, including 14 at Lamodi PHC, 12 at Olomowewe PHC, 10 at Igboro, 11 at Abogunugun, and 8 at Igbona PHC.
When compiled, the total number of patients supported within these three months reached an impressive 157.
Mr. Lawal took the opportunity to reassure Kwarans and Nigerians at large that the foundation’s health initiative will not only continue but also expand in line with the visionary goals set by the foundation’s founder.
The foundation remains steadfast in its mission to provide essential health support to those in need, reinforcing its role as a partner in community development and welfare.
