Engr. Busuyi Ayowole has formally joined the African Action Congress (AAC) in Osun State, signalling his return to active politics after three years of political silence.
Ayowole, who last made a political declaration in August 2022, said his decision followed wide consultations with the Osun AAC leadership, led by the state chairman, Comrade Seun Alabi. He noted that the move was driven by his renewed commitment to accountability, grassroots engagement, and sustainable development in the state.
Speaking through his Senior Press Officer, Ilesanmi Samuel Iyanu, the engineer stressed that he had not been affiliated with any political party or group since 2022, adding that his new alignment marks a fresh political beginning.
In the same statement, Ayowole dismissed allegations that he received foreign donations during his 2022 campaign or benefitted from political inducements from any candidate, group, or party.
“These claims are false, defamatory, and aimed at undermining his character and integrity,” Iyanu said, adding that legal action may be pursued against those responsible for the allegations.
As part of efforts to strengthen his political communications, Ayowole announced the appointment of Comrade Raufu Sodiq, popularly known as Oluomo Success, as his Special Assistant on Strategic Communications.
The statement further disclosed that consultations are ongoing regarding Ayowole’s role in the 2026/2027 political season, with a promise of transparency and grassroots inclusiveness in decision-making.
