A fellow passenger, Tunde Ibrahim, has spoken in defence of Comfort Emmanson, the woman at the centre of a viral incident involving Ibom Air cabin crew.
In a post on social media seen by News Bulletin, Ibrahim claimed Emmanson informed crew members that her phone was already on flight mode, in compliance with aviation safety regulations. Despite this, he alleged, the crew pushed her back into her seat and pinned her down.
According to Ibrahim, upon landing, Emmanson was not permitted to disembark voluntarily but was forcibly removed from the aircraft in what he described as a humiliating and violent manner witnessed by other passengers.
His account has intensified public outrage, as Emmanson was subsequently arrested and remanded at Kirikiri Correctional Centre. Many Nigerians have condemned the airline’s handling of the situation, calling for a full investigation and accountability.
News Bulletin will continue to track developments on this matter.
