
The Kwara State branch of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR) will host its 2025 Annual Branch Convention and Election on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Secretariat Hall, beside the Kwara State High Court, Ilorin.
With the theme “Security Agencies and Public Relations: Human Rights Perspective,” the convention will provide a platform to deliberate on the relationship between law enforcement agencies and the protection of human rights in Nigeria.
Expected participants include representatives from the National Human Rights Commission, Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Correctional Service, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
The Director General of the Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS), Comrade Issa Aremu, will chair the event, while Mallam Nasir Abdulquadir, CEO of D-Positive Global Image Consult, will deliver the keynote address as guest speaker.
