Newborn Baby Disappears From Ekiti Hospital

Tension enveloped the Okeyimi Health Centre in Ado Ekiti on Monday following the mysterious disappearance of a day‑old baby from the facility.

The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of the day when healthcare workers attempted to attend to the infant, only to discover that she was missing. The sudden disappearance triggered panic and confusion among the mother, family members, patients, and hospital staff.

According to sources within the facility, both the mother and several members of staff, including a security guard, have been taken into custody for questioning. Efforts to obtain an official reaction from the hospital’s management were unsuccessful as of press time.

Confirming the development, the spokesperson for the Ekiti State Police Command, SP Sunday Abutu, disclosed that four suspects had been arrested in connection with the case.

“The Commissioner of Police, Joseph Eribo, has directed the State CID to thoroughly investigate the case and ensure that the missing baby is found,” Abutu stated. “So far, four persons have been arrested and are currently providing useful information to assist in our ongoing investigation.”

The development has thrown the community into a state of shock, with residents anxiously awaiting updates on the search for the missing infant.
