Kunle Buraimoh Foundation is set to donate the sum of N10 million to Osun State University (UNIOSUN), Osogbo, to equip the Cybersecurity Laboratory of the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology.
The donation, which is part of the foundation’s broader commitment to revitalising tertiary education in Nigeria, will be officially presented on Monday, August 4, 2025, during a ceremony to be held at the Olagunsoye Oyinlola Auditorium on the university’s main campus.
Leading the outreach on behalf of the Foundation is Mr. Fatai Adekunle, who described the initiative as a strategic intervention aimed at empowering young people with critical digital security skills in a fast-evolving technological world.
“This isn’t just a donation; it’s an investment in the future of our youth and the security of our digital space. With cyber threats on the rise globally, it has become essential that Nigerian students are not left behind in building capacity for digital defense. That’s what this lab represents. It’s a future-focused vision.
“We are sending a strong message about the role of the private sector in nation-building, especially in the education sector.
“The cybersecurity laboratory is expected to provide hands-on training and research opportunities for students, opening doors to international certification, innovation, and job readiness in the tech and security sectors,” he partly said.
The Foundation is also calling on other philanthropic individuals and organisations to join hands in supporting educational development.
In a similar news, the foundation will be unveiling the recipients of its 2025 scholarships awards on Monday, August 4.
It was gathered that five exceptional students have been selected to receive scholarships to pursue their studies in Medicine and Surgery, Pharmacy, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
According to the foundation, two of the recipients will enjoy full-term scholarships, covering the entire duration of their programs, while three others will receive one-year scholarships.
