Ogbeni Seun Ogunniyi Adato, Member representing Ojomu/Balogun Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly has joined artists, cultural enthusiasts, and young innovators at the official opening of the “Colours of Kwara” Art Exhibition in Ilorin.
The event, organized by Creative Community (2C) in collaboration with a dynamic network of youthful and multi-talented creatives, marks the second edition of a growing cultural initiative aimed at promoting art as a tool for empowerment, identity preservation, and community building.
Held at the Place of Pleasure, Unity Road, Ilorin, the five-day exhibition is already making waves with its eclectic display of visual art, craftwork, sculpting, and performance pieces reflecting the rich, untapped artistry across Kwara State.
Speaking at the opening ceremony on Friday, Hon. Ogunniyi expressed admiration for the bold vision behind the exhibition and the audacity of the exhibitors to showcase the state’s rich cultural identity through powerful artistic expression.
He also had enriching conversations with participating artists including Musa, Duru, Treasure, Favour, Bayo, Ifeanyi, and Joshua, describing the interactions as “thought-provoking” and “deeply inspiring.”
The remaining programme schedule is packed with activities: Day 2 – Craft Making, Day 3 – Art Talk Show, Day 4 – Canvas of Hope and Day 5 – Paint and Sip.
Hon. Ogunniyi used the opportunity to call on corporate organizations, public institutions, and individuals to lend their support to the creative ecosystem in Kwara, noting that art is not only a cultural asset but an economic engine and a means of shaping positive narratives.
“Let us continue to celebrate, reflect, and project the beautiful Colours of Kwara in all we do—every day, and everywhere,” he concluded.
The exhibition continues through August 5, 2025, and is open to the public.
