The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has called on National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in Kwara State to actively support the fight against corruption in Nigeria.
The charge was delivered by Ayodele Babatunde, Head of Public Affairs at the EFCC Ilorin Zonal Directorate, during an interactive sensitisation session with about 70 members of the NYSC/EFCC Community Development Service (CDS) Group at the Kwara State Ministry of Environment Conference Hall in Ilorin.
Babatunde reaffirmed the commitment of EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, to youth inclusion in the anti-graft campaign, describing young Nigerians as “the heartbeat of the nation and vital allies in the fight against corruption.”
“As young graduates and future leaders, you are strategically positioned to drive the message of integrity and act as ambassadors of the anti-corruption campaign. The fight against corruption is not for EFCC alone; it requires the collective effort of all well-meaning Nigerians, especially the youth,” he said.
He highlighted forms of corruption including bribery, embezzlement, cybercrime, and abuse of public office, urging corps members to report suspicious activities via official channels such as the EFCC Eagle Eye App. He also encouraged them to use their platforms to sensitise others on the dangers of corruption and the benefits of a transparent society.
The session featured a question-and-answer segment, where Babatunde assured corps members of the Commission’s continued support through enlightenment campaigns, community projects, and collaborative initiatives to promote national integrity.
The event ended with corps members pledging to uphold ethical standards and serve as integrity ambassadors throughout their service year and beyond.
