The Emir of Gudi, His Royal Highness Isah Bunuwo Madugu Ibn Khaji, has passed away after a protracted illness.
Family sources confirmed that the 19th Emir of the Gudi Emirate died on Thursday at Nizamiye Hospital, Abuja.
According to palace officials, the funeral prayer for the late monarch is scheduled to hold on Friday at 2:00 p.m. in Gadaka town, Fika Local Government Area. Governor Mai Mala Buni is expected to join other dignitaries and residents of the state in paying their final respects.
The Gudi Emirate, one of Yobe’s 14 emirate councils, is recognised as a first-class traditional institution in the state. The late Emir’s demise marks a significant loss to the traditional leadership structure of the region.
