The Dome Hall of the Enugu State International Conference Centre is witnessing a gathering of industry stakeholders, seasoned professionals, and young trailblazers today, Wednesday, July 30, 2025, as the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) held its highly anticipated 2-day National Workshop and Induction of New Members.
Among those formally inducted into the prestigious institute was QS Omuiyadun Hammed Dimeji, a seasoned professional whose career spans both the public and private sectors with nearly 15 years of cognate experience.
QS Omuiyadun’s induction marks a significant milestone in his professional journey.
He has led the strategic planning and implementation of community-based and social development projects—providing enabling infrastructure and driving socio-economic growth through prudent resource management, with an impressive track record in government establishments and corporate organizations,
A graduate of Federal Polytechnic Offa (HND) and Oduduwa University, Ile-Ife (BSc), Omuiyadun is currently pursuing his MSc in Quantity Surveying.
He previously served as the Head of the Quantity Surveying Unit at the Federal Polytechnic Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, before his current appointment as Principal Personal Assistant to the Deputy Senate Leader, Senator Oyelola Yisa Ashiru.
In addition to his public service, Omuiyadun is also the Managing Director and CEO of Yaoh Development Limited, a thriving real estate and construction firm headquartered in the FCT, Abuja.
Reacting to his induction, Omuiyadun expressed deep appreciation to his principal, Senator Ashiru, for the continued support and mentorship. In his words: “This was the basic reason why I pursued this milestone, to disabuse young, aspiring leaders from seeing politics as the only venture at the expense of career development. I must appreciate my principal, Senator Oyelola Yisa Ashiru, for the opportunity to widen my knowledge and professional inclination.”
The theme of the workshop, “Standardizing Procurement Excellence: Enhancing Transparency and Efficiency Through the Nigerian Bureau of Public Procurement’s Standard Bidding Document”, reflects the institute’s renewed commitment to upholding global best practices in public sector procurement and construction project management.
Key figures in attendance included Dr. Adebowale Adedokun, MCIPS, Director General of the Bureau of Public Procurement, who delivered the keynote address; Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah of Enugu State, the Special Guest of Honour; and Lt. Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika (Rtd), CFR, the workshop Chairman and former Chief of Army Staff.
The NIQS continues to play a vital role in shaping Nigeria’s construction and infrastructure sector through rigorous professional standards, capacity building, and policy advocacy.
