A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has assured that the electorate will have no cause to regret returning the party to power in the forthcoming governorship election slated for 8th August 2026.
Oyintiloye, a former lawmaker, gave this assurance during a consultation visit by an APC governorship aspirant, Mr Bola Oyebamiji, to Obokun Local Government Area on Saturday.
He stated that the APC is well-positioned to deliver on the expectations of the people, having conducted a thorough needs assessment through the Civic Engagement Agency established by the previous administration. According to him, the agency was set up to enable government respond proactively to the yearnings of the populace.
Addressing party stalwarts and supporters at the event, Oyintiloye urged the electorate to back the APC at the polls, assuring them of a purposeful leadership built on existing developmental blueprints.
“Our party’s blueprint for effective governance was finalised even before the conclusion of Governor Oyetola’s tenure,” he said. “The incoming APC governor will leverage that document and other refined initiatives for a seamless and impactful take-off.”
In his remarks, Mr Bola Oyebamiji, Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), expressed commitment to revisiting the comprehensive needs assessment carried out under the last APC-led administration.
“The Civic Engagement Agency will be revitalised to restore the critical link between government and the people,” Oyebamiji declared. “The documented needs of our communities remain valid. Our administration will strive to implement those demands, subject to patience and understanding from our people.”
He further pledged to prioritise matters affecting civil servants, artisans, and other socio-economic groups in the state.
Exuding confidence in his chances, Oyebamiji affirmed that if given the APC ticket, he is poised to unseat the incumbent governor. He appealed for the support of Obokun voters to actualise his gubernatorial ambition and promised a people-focused administration if elected.
