With a deep sense of sorrow and heavy heart, I joined the entire country to mourn the death of our former President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR. President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR during his lifetime was a patriot, an outstanding soldier, a politician, and a statesman who served our country to the best of his ability. With his death, Nigeria has lost a well-disciplined leader whose hallmark of leadership is his incorruptible character in public service and his simple and austere lifestyle.
I commiserate with his family, the government, and people of Katsina State, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, and indeed all Nigerians. I pray that God will grant his immediate family and thousands of his admirers the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. May Allah grant his soul Aljanat firdaus as his body would be laid to rest later today in his hometown in Katsina.
