Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, has formally withdrawn his membership from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Lawal announced his resignation in a personally signed letter addressed to the Chairman of the APC in Bangshika Ward, Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
In the statement, the former SGF said his decision takes immediate effect, adding that he would announce his next political direction in due course.
“I write to formally notify you of my resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC). In due course, I will make public my current political affiliation, where I plan to join compatriots in working towards making Nigeria a better living place for all citizens,” he stated.
Lawal also conveyed his regards to party members, urging them to “remain blessed.”
Babachir Lawal served as SGF under President Muhammadu Buhari during the first term of his administration.
